David Harrington (*1973 in Hamburg) erhielt als Sohn einer deutschen Mutter und eines irischen Vaters seinen ersten Klavierunterricht im Alter von fünf Jahren und setzte diese Ausbildung bei seinem Lehrer Frank Guzinski bis zu seinem 24. Lebensjahr fort. In dieser Zeit gewann er den TELDEC-Klavierwettbewerb und war Preisträger bei den Wettbewerben von „Steinway & Sons“ und „Jugend Musiziert“. Als Achtjähriger spielte er vierhändig mit Richard Clayderman auf dessen Europa-Tour.

Nach dem Abitur studierte David Harrington die Fächer Klavier, Gesang und Dirigat in Berlin und Hamburg. Er erwarb den Abschluss M.A. im Bereich Musiktheater. Es folgten Engagements als Dirigent/Pianist der Musicalproduktionen Cats, Das Phantom der Oper, Ich war noch niemals in New York, Dirty Dancing, Little Shop Of Horrors und vielen weiteren Musiktheaterproduktionen in Berlin, London und Hamburg. Seit 10 Jahren ist David Harrington einer der Musikalischen Leiter am Schmidt’s Tivoli Theater in Hamburg und dirigiert dort das Musical HEISSE ECKE sowie sämtliche anderen Musicals mit Orchester.

David Harrington gibt regelmäßig Solokonzerte, die durch eine ungewöhnliche Mischung aus pianistischer Kunst, Gesang und Schauspiel bestechen.

He continued these studies under his teacher Frank Guzinski until the age of 24. Within this time he won the TELDEC Piano Competition and was prize winner with the competitions of “Steinway & Sons” and “Jugend Musiziert”. At the age of eight, he played four-handed with Richard Clayderman on the European Tour of the latter.

After completing his A-levels, David Harrington studied the subjects Piano, Voice, and Conducting in Berlin and Hamburg. He acquired a M.A. degree in the field of music theatre. After that followed engagements as conductor/pianist of the musical productions CATS, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, ICH WAR NOCH NIEMALS IN NEW YORK, DIRTY DANCING, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and many more music theatre productions in Berlin, London and Hamburg. For 10 years now, David Harrington is one of the Music Directors at the Schmidt’s Tivoli Theatre in Hamburg, where he conducts the musical HEISSE ECKE as well as all other musicals with orchestra.
